SDRC offer new full-time and part-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) programmes.
The research areas for the proposed PhD/MPhil programmes include;
- Sustainable Development and Planning in Rural areas
- Social Cohesion and Community Sustainability
- Corporate Sustainability and Management
All the PhD/MPhil students will be registered as UHI Millennium Institute students and all training, supervision and mentoring will be delivered through UHI Millennium Institute.
PhD - The full time PhD programme duration is from 30 - 45 months and the part time programme duration is from 45 – 72 months.
MPhil - The full-time MPhil programme duration is from 18-36 months and the part-time MPhil programme duration is from 30 to 48 months
The normal entry requirement is an Honours degree (1 or 2:1) of a recognised UK degree-awarding body, or postgraduate diploma, or a professional qualification recognised as being equivalent to an Honours degree. Other qualifications or experience that demonstrates that a candidate possesses appropriate knowledge and skills at Honours degree standard may be acceptable (e.g. a creditable publication of research papers at the appropriate level). Any student enrolling will be required to meet the admissions criteria for the programme.
The cost for UK/EU students is as follows: part time programme is £1,658 for each year (rising approximately 3% year on year) and full time course £3,315 (rising approximately 3% year on year)
The cost for Non EU Students is as follows: part-time programme is £4,489 (rising approximately 3% year on year) and full time course £9,379 (rising approximately 3% year on year)
