Tim Rollinson, Director General and Deputy Chairman, Forestry Commission

Tim Rollinson was appointed Director General of the Forestry Commission on 1 February 2004. Tim joined the Forestry Commission in 1976 after completing a degree in Ecological Science at Edinburgh University.
He worked as a forest manager in Kent and East Sussex, and then the New Forest before moving to work in forestry research on growth and yield studies at Alice Holt. He worked in a variety of policy roles including land use planning and parliamentary affairs and then as Secretary to the Forestry Commissioners. From 1997 - 2000 Tim was head of the Forestry Commission in England before moving back to Edinburgh as Director of the Forestry Group.
Tim is a Director for Wood. for Good and was President of the Institute of Chartered Foresters from 2000 – 2002. (http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-62mjcs)
