Professor Tim O’Riordan

Tim O’Riordan is a member of the UK Sustainable Development Commission the Soil Association Council, and the Sustainability Science Movement. He is Emeritus Professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia. His research interests cover the politics of the struggle to identify and attain sustainability in an age of overwhelming human impact on the planet and its peoples.

The lecture will review the science of “tipping points”, outline the emerging sustainable development agenda in the UK (and especially Scotland), and print out ways in which business and the university sector can work together to begin the transition to sustainability in their own outlooks and practices.
