Sustainable Development Research Centre (SDRC) is a more than profit research centre that explores the concepts of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and social enterprise development.  SDRC seeks to advise and support individuals, communities, businesses and other organizations to create a more sustainable culture that encourages the evolution and widespread adoption of thinking and practices that are economically competitive, environmentally sound and that are socially responsible. 

The vision of the Sustainable Development Research Centre (SDRC) is to establish itself as an internationally renowned research centre exploring the concepts of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and social enterprise development. Through the creation of strategic academic and business partnerships, the SDRC seeks to achieve the following key objectives:

  • To demonstrate through research and practical projects, that caring for the environment is good for business and organizational efficiency, in the short term as well as the long term.

  • To advise and support individuals, communities, businesses and other organizations to create a more sustainable culture that encourages the evolution and widespread adoption of thinking and practices that are economically competitive, environmentally sound and socially responsible.
  • To work with other stakeholders to make the Highlands and Islands a region internationally renowned for its understanding and application of sustainable development.
